Punishment or Mercy

So many times in our lives we don't get our way. Think about this for a minute. When we don't get our way do we ever stop to thing about what might happen if we did. I believe God has mercy on us sometimes when we don't get our way. Maybe we can't handle some of the things that God keeps from blessing us with. My heart goes out to a good friend of mine. He and his wife lost their baby that she was nine and a half weeks pregnant with. Punishment? I don't believe so. I believe, for what ever reason, God did not want them to have that child. Maybe there was a defect in the way the baby was developing. Maybe now is just not the time for them to be having a baby. What ever the reason, I don't believe that God is punishing them. I do believe that God may be saving them from facing something that they can not handle. Again, for whatever reason, God has had mercy on my friends, and I know that that child is now in good hands. God promised that He would never give us more than what we can handle with His help.
